10 guides to survive the recession time!
Check these 10 guides to survive the recession time:
- Go easy on the shopping: recession is certainly not the best time to go shopping. So drop any plans for purchasing that new dress or electronic gadget. Even when you go grocery shopping, maintain a list of those things which are a necessity and not a want.
- Control your tongue: if you have to save money, then stop eating out. There is no point spending an amount on a single meal from which you could buy a week’s groceries. Also turn a vegetarian and eat veggies which are low on price. This would certainly save up a lot of your money.
- Use public transport: you can save up a lot of your funds by simply travelling from public transport. A, the tickets are cheap and B, you don’t have to use your vehicle, so you save the money of fuel.
- Save electricity, save money: another way to survive the monetary crunch is to save on the electricity bills. This is easy to do. Just switch off electric appliances when not in use. Use fan instead of AC, don’t use geyser in summers, handwash the utensils and clothes.
- Talk less: get your landline disconnected and get prepaid connection for your mobile phone. This would help you to keep a check on your talking expenses. If possible, get a family or friends plan for mobile phone so that you get discount on calls to your friends and family.
- Walk instead of gym: cancel your gym membership and start walking or jogging to stay fit. If you are addicted to exercising then try home exercises which can be easily done without any equipment.
- Stay healthy: recession is not the best time to fall ill, trust me! You don’t want to pay the doctor half of your salary for a fever or cough. So try not to fall ill and stay healthy.
- Garage sale: have a garage sale and sell of your unwanted items. This would not only give you a surprise income but would also clear up the cluttered space in your home taken by the unwanted items.
- Save on the luxuries: forget the spa treatments and beauty salons till the time recession is around. You can easily do manicures and pedicures yourself at home. Tell your partner to give you a massage if you are too tired, this way you can save the money and instill romance at the same time!
